archives dear people
here are 10 songs to make up for lost time(:
1) C'mon Baby-Wakefield
this is my rockin ringtone babayyyeee.
Released in 2005, this song rings with freshness that i don't find boring and old at all((:
anyway, what's the deal with wakefield man? like, i bet only 1/10 people who read the blog know who they are. searching on youtube, i found only TWO songs. one in 2002/2003 and C'mon Baby. But this group, despite being amazingly off my (and most people's) radar, is pretty hot. With the likes of ex Good Charlotte drummer in their four-piece, this band played their first show in a NYC club and have toured with several big bands like MxPx (i just took that off wiki, so i hv totally no idea what that band is like. ohwell). Their new album is said to come out really soon so it's something to check out.
p.s: ter doesnt like this. but it's really worth a listen :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnjAUh5-Dcw embedding was disabled so here is the link!
2) She's A Lady-Forever The Sickest Kids
woahhh who taught THEM how to PLAY like that, at this pace theyre at theyre going way too fasssttt (heh. :D playing with lyrics from Woah Oh, their top hit on itunes and many other charts). i guess FTSK's quick rise to success is mainly due to all the hard work frontman Jonathan Cook has put in to market the band. Plus theyve had links to a popular hotel chain (uh, i forgot which one) so that makes touring easy for them. Adding on to that, some endorsement from Paris Hilton, the world's favourite spoilt heiress, has put them in high places. This damn song. It keeps playing in my head. The main chorus is wayyy catchy-SHE'S A LADY AND LADIES SHOULDN'T BE MESSED WITH- and it took it 3 days to jump to my top 25 on my ipod. so how bout that. She's A Lady is one of my favourite choices from their album Underdog Alma Mater and it's definitely a rock-on add to your playlist.
3) You Do, You Don't- Friday Night Boys
this song is pretty good. i mean i dont even know what other word to use than good. it's nice but then i know some people will say no to it. But seriously, the song is really emotional and explores lots of feelings that i see my friends going through. Towards the end, i felt myself tearing o: so that's a sign? Although there isn't a single wiki article mentioning them, this band seriously has got something going on. Touring with bands like All Time Low, the band is also going to play in the Jingle My Bells Festival with Valencia, There For Tomorrow and Ace Enders, just to name a few. Theyre gonna be on to something big soon! so take a listen to this song and be one of those who started listening to them before they hit HUGE popularity. other songs that i like from them: superman(save you), that's what she said.
4) One Last Time-Take The Lead
i just randomly picked this song from their list of 4 on their myspace cos i rly didnt know which one would show the best in the band! just take a listen luh(: the problem is, this band is rly new on the scene and theyre damn unknown. i searched. no youtube. no nothing. so my advice is to get ready for their EP coming out soon this month and maybe try to catch a youtube video of their songs. if you want it, buy it! back to the song and the band: i guess there are tons of bands with sounds like these nowadays. but then the reason why i posted their song is just to provide a glimpse into the numerous bands trying to make it big in the US. This one is a good specimen and I think we'll see more of them sooner or later! LISTEN!

the band is way off radar so check their myspace(: love you guys!
5)April Showers Bring May Flower-Sail By The Stars
okay, like, seriously, OMG YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT ALL ALL ALL OF HIS SONGS. they are fucking good and im not afraid to swear about it. He is going to be a star i tellsss you! This dude, Josh K., plays all the instruments and writes all the songs. omg WHO HAS THAT MUCH TALENT. SHEESH. and the songs sound btr than tons of those bands that get together to jam. frigging fantastic, this one's a keeper and i don't have anything else to say but THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR AWESOMENESS!
6) Ultraviolet-The Stiff Dylans
Who's read Angus, Thongs And Full Frontal Snogging (did i get that right?)? Cos yes, this IS the band from the book. well okay not exactly. Our lovely brit boys all auditioned to play "The Stiff Dylans", a fictional band in the movie version of the book. But who's complaining! These boys will never disappoint with their catchy hooks and lyrics, of course not without the huge dash of charisma they have-why, it comes in TRUCKLOADS i tell you. The only thing im wondering is WHY WHY WHY they never met sooner and brought some life into my slightly dreary (no offence) opinion on brit music. All I have to say is that it was simply fate to bring them together. mushy muchhh but it's true! One thing the band truly has to be thankful for sure is that they were made for the silver screen and so the publicity will be mega. So now, the song: HELLO. THIS IS LIKE THE THEME SONG FOR THE MOVIE. maybe you've heard it as you drove past lido shaw centre as the trailer of the movie played on the huge screen (well, that's where i heard it today). so it being the theme song of the movie should be sufficient testimony. but for the sake of it, i think it's an absolutely terrific song and your ear-time won't be wasted. i promise! the song has been playing over and over since i watched the movie 3wks ago! so how bout that! to end, just wanna say that the band itself is truly ultraviolet and and and. WATCH THE MOVIE DAMN IT. COS AARON JOHNSON IS IN IT. GAWD. :D
7) The Shake-Kisschasy
soft guitar and intricately woven lyrics. what more do you want from this comforting song! every single time i hear this song im lulled into calm (lol-but im serious). more abt kisschasy. the basics: it's an aussie rock band hailing from victoria, THE ABSOLUTE PLACE TO BE, and specifically my third home, melbourne. so through the years, their sound has matured abit and their career has seen them playing with greats such as SIMPLE PLAN-which by the way, is the love-in the best locations like the rod laver arena in melbourne. yup. that's about it. go check them out. some nice songs(:
8) Remembering Sunday-All Time Low
AHHH I LOVE ALL TIME LOW! theyre EXTREMELY GOOD X 1000000000000. :D yeh. that good. this song is a fine sample. honest lyrics, soothing voice of vocalist alex (hehhh he's rly cute!) and this song has got it's place in my heart and head hands down. The song is about a guy who's searching for THAT GIRL. i guess many people are faced with such an issue. i mean like for someone to spend the rest of your life with, you can't just pick any old person down the street. you have to get that right person wherever they may be. yepp. it's a good song to relate to and just a fraction of ATL's pwn-ness :D
9) That For Me-Forever The Sickest Kids
must. control. self. from. recommending. another. FTSK. song. gah. icantdoit. i just HAVE HAVE HAVE to push this song. this song absolutely lifts you upppp. it makes me feel super good, whenever i listen to it. the song is a sure find on my top 25 and you should add it to yours!
10) Without You-Hinder
so the first time i heard this song was on mtv, while watching the video. i swear i heard the first few notes and i was like GOSH I NEED TO KNOW THAT SONG! haha had that feeling before? yeahhh this song will make you way drawn to it cos it's such a meaningful song! haha nth to say abt hinder cos i think most people have heard them before with their hit Lips Of An Angel. this song=winnaaarrrr.
